JJ (Jay Jay) is the most handsome Blue Point Birman in his luxurious fluffy silken coat, white gloves on his front paws and longer rear white socks. His coat doesn’t shed much or mat easily, as Birman’s do not have an undercoat, so twice weekly combing will keep it beautiful. Looking into his striking luminous baby blue eyes will melt your heart. At 18 months old he is just half way to reaching his full maturity at 3 years old. He is a strongly built cat weighing in at 16 lbs of solid muscle.
From their breed name, it’s not difficult to figure out that these cats originated in Burma. According to legend this blue-eyed beauty had some help from the divine intervention of a blue-eyed goddess worshiped in the country’s mythology to achieve its stunning eye color. It is believed that these cats were the sacred companions of the Kitteh priests in Burma and were awarded with white paws as a symbol of purity for their devotion. They are an especially loving and affectionate breed, having been bred as companion cats for many generations. Birman cats are docile, sociable, smart, friendly cats. They are also quietly spoken, curious and people-oriented, often described as “unconditional love in a fur coat” bringing pleasure and happiness to those who return that love with attention and affection.
True to his breed, this very affectionate boy loves to rub up against your legs, give head bonks, settle down on your lap or snuggle with you in beds, all the while happily purring to his heart’s content. He lives to play and enjoys interactive attention with his people. Got high places? JJ’s inquisitive nature will find him exploring them for a high perch to oversee his domain. A tall cat tree would be an added enhancement to his environment. He is a calm, rather nonchalant kind of guy, laid back, and quite unassuming. He is not at all aggressive, never scratches or nips. JJ gets along well with an older Ragdoll, who he wishes would be more responsive to his promptings to play. JJ is people friendly and has a curious interest in other animals.
This is a healthy young cat. JJ’s most recent Vet check was in February 2020 for a routine exam. He is up to date on vaccinations. JJ is indoor only, likes his high quality grain free wet and dry foods. He also enjoys having a little raw meat for a treat. He is litter box perfect.
JJ’s owner says this about him: “JJ is a well behaved kitty. He loves attention and has a super chilled personality, best described as a Hippie/Snowboard kind of guy. He’s very playful and loves other animals as well. He does well with both small or older children. He is really a Great Cat!“
The Perfect adopter for JJ will be home most of the time, love to play with him giving him loads of attention, the run of the house and freedom to play in an indoor environment. The owner prefers his adopter be within the greater Sacramento area. Long distance transport or shipping is not an option for JJ.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching JJ with qualified adopters that fit the owner’s desire for the ideal forever home, and will cherish him for the beautiful, loving, interactive cat that he is.
