Adult, F, Brown Spotted Bengal

Jinx initially joined Deserving Pets Rescue about 5 years ago. She was surrendered to us from a vet clinic when she broke her leg and the owners were going to euthanize her. We took her in and had her leg amputated, then she was re-homed. She had lived happily with her family for a number of years but when the family had a new baby, Jinx started to urinate inappropriately, mostly on the woman’s bed. They did take her to their veterinarian and couldn’t find a medical reason for the issue so it was determined to be behavioral. They weren’t able to get her to stop the behavior and asked that we take her back.

She has been back in our rescue since December 2018. She is currently with one of our volunteers and she is allowed full run of the house. She has her own room with a litter box, food/water, toys and bed. She has a baby gate to close off the room from the dogs and she can come and go as she pleases. The first week in her foster she spent the majority of her time hiding but has since began to explore the house and interact with the other cats. The dogs she still avoids for the most part but is becoming braver.

She was boarded for a few days before a foster was found and has been in two different foster homes since then. She had never had an accident in any of these places and has used her litter box every time, until last week. She was accidentally locked in a bedroom where she didn’t have access to a litter box for the day and urinated on the bed. Then she was good for a few days after that until another foster cat was introduced into the home and he decided to pick on her, backing her into a corner and bullying her. She then had two accidents on the futon in her room. The other foster cat was placed in another home and Jinx moved to another room in the house were she hasn’t had access to beds other than her own.

Jinx is a beautiful, sweet and curious girl and she loves to rub up against you legs, or the wall or the bed. She is vocal and likes to talk when she is comfortable. She needs a quiet family to call her own.

Jinx has been vet checked, spayed, de-wormed, microchipped and vaccinated.
Jinx is located in Red Bluff, California
