About Jewel

5 to 8 years old,F, Dilute Calico, Straight haired Selkirk Rex

Selkirk Rex cats are one of the newest natural breeds. A female curly haired cat was found in a shelter in Montana. When bred with a Persian, the resulting litter had curly and straight haired kittens, proving the curly haired gene is dominant. These cats are healthy and sturdy. They are incredibly patient, loving and tolerant.

Jewel definitely shows these personality traits.  Her foster mom says her name describes her perfectly. She is a bit timid at first, but as soon as she gets to know you, she becomes a very loving girl. She gives gentle head bumps, kneads on you, stretches out on your lap, purrs softly and gives sweet chirps of joy, in response to your attention. If you need a cuddle bug, she is your girl! She loves playing with da mouse but is more interested in being loved by her humans. She would do well as an only cat and has also lived with cat friendly dogs. Why is she up for adoption you might ask? Unfortunately her original owner passed away, so a friend of hers contacted PPCR to find a wonderful forever home for Jewel. She is a very precious cat! Will you be the perfect home for her? She is definitely a special treasure!

Jewel will come to you spayed, vaccinated, tested and microchipped. She is litterbox perfect and eats wet and dry food. She is fostered in Elk Grove.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment.  Why?  This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other.  A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
