Born 11/05/2011, M, Red Mackerel Tabby Devon Rex

Jasper is a funny little fella. He appears to have a stronger liking for the human ladies – men…not so much. He is discerning when it comes to strangers, which means he’ll hide until the coast is clear. When he first comes to his new home, be sure to provide him with a kitty cave and anticipate you won’t see him for the first two weeks.

You’ll have to just love him for the impish looks of the Devon Rex breed. His owner thinks he has the most beautiful thick and soft coat that she gets to enjoy when he wants to be petted which is usually in the evening when he comes to her for his share of love and affection. There are some cats who don’t mind being picked up and carried around like a stuffed animal. Jasper has his own opinions about this technique, which means he will let you know when he wants to interact with you. Please be respectful of this little guy’s quirky personality.

His owners will be moving into much smaller digs, and they don’t think Jasper will do well in a rather confined environment. She believes the move will just be too traumatic for him. There is also the fact that Jasper gets along very nicely with their male Munchkin buddy, but is getting pounced on by a couple of their domestic male cats, which is the reason she contacted our organization to help rehome this little man.

His owner chuckles when she mentions that Jasper must have an imaginary friend. Out of the blue he’ll jump on a wall as if to attack his friend or perhaps it’s his frenemy. He also has a special “baby” that he likes to carry around the house while meowing. He sure sounds like such a funny little character.

He seems to be okay with cat friendly dogs and with non-dominant felines. Older, cat savvy children should be fine for him, again keeping in mind that he will be quite shy in the beginning.

He uses his litterbox without any issues.
