About Jam (and Jelly)
Adopted by Kim
Jam’s silhouette is so irresistible. His little tail is about half an inch long though its fur sticks up almost an inch long. You can see that his hind legs are longer than his front legs making his back slope down towards his head which is a classic Manx trait. He is all bounce and joy. He loves humans.
We took in a litter of four kittens – three were Manxes with short tails (Jam is the shortest ), and one solid black boy has an unusually long and elegant tail. That kitten is named Jelly, and the two black kittens, Jam and Jelly, are best friends and are going to go home together. There are two variations on a theme: black kittens with the very shortest and the very longest tails.
Jelly is the most deeply sweet of the four. He is such a lover. Though he is curious about the world and wants to play with everything in it, he is just a little quieter than exuberant Jam. If you look at his pictures, you can see he has a much longer body in addition to his long tail. His face and his fur are very similar to Jam’s.
These kittens came to the rescue that gave them to Purebreds when they were one week old. Their kitty mom nursed them, but humans handled them all the time. They are entirely comfortable with human touch ” as if they were bottle babies,” we were told. They are beautifully socialized and a delight to play with.
So what a beautiful and unusual pair they are! They have just reached three pounds and are neutered. They are still very little, but they are so confident in the world I am posting them earlier than I usually do. They want to run and play in their new home.
These two should be good family cats, happy with children four years and up who are respectful and careful of them. Any age human would enjoy them. Some family will be so lucky.
Jelly is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pets and create an ideal forever home.
If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Jelly (and Jam) please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com. If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.
NOTE: We prefer families with children to bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
