About Indigo

Adopted by Veronica & Allen

Indigo was, of course, named for his gorgeous blue eyes. He was purchased as a kitten from a Ragdoll breeder. We have all his paperwork. His mom loved him very much but she surrendered him to us because since her life was changing she felt she could not be his best home.

He is the best of kitties.  He is a mild mannered, loving fluff ball. He was a bit shocked to come stay with us but compared to other Ragdolls that I have fostered he settled in more quickly and with less trouble than I expected. I am always saying Ragdolls are very emotional cats who do not take change easily, they mope and stop eating, they stare into space. Indigo is a very goodnatured, mellow guy, sociable with strangers. Very loving.

Indigo hadn’t been around any kitties (or dogs ) since he was purchased. We watched  him a bit to see how he felt about other cats so we could determine what would be the best home for him. We found he liked and was interested in other cats. After a few weeks went by we noticed that a few normally peaceable kitties unexpectedly sort of picked on him, there was no fighting, they would just sort of corner him and dominate him in a way he which made him uncomfortable. We couldn’t see that he did anything to cause this. It is complicated since Indigo likes being around cats, especially younger cats who are friendly to him.

Indigo is a very, very gentle loving boy. He needs a home with very, very gentle humans and very gentle animals. This kitty is a huge treasure. I don’t know how he is with dogs but since he can be intimidated only non-aggressive, sweet dogs would likely be ok.

Note:  I expect a great number of folks will email me about him so please forgive me in advance if I cannot answer everyone. I know it is frustrating. Please put an application in right away if you are serious about him.

Indigo eats wet and dry food and is litter box perfect.

Indigo is fostered in Santa Cruz, CA.
