About Huckleberry

Huckleberry is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with the Humane Society of Sonoma County in Santa Rosa. Adoption fee applies. Find out more about Owner Placement Cats.
Huckleberry is approximately 12 years-old. He’s incredibly sweet and friendly, but hasn’t been getting much adoption interest in the time he’s been with the Humane Society of Sonoma County. They have reached out to us to help find Huckleberry’s perfect home, which they are sure is out there waiting for him. After viewing his video we just had to say YES! What a love bug!
Here is what the Humane Society Admissions Program Manager has told us about him:
Huckleberry is a mellow gentleman who will excitedly greet you with happy chirps when you hang out with him. His favorite time of day might be mealtime — he is very enthusiastic about his food! Huckleberry says chin scratches are the best scratches and hopes that you can give him a lot of them in his new home.
Huckleberry loves to give hugs: he will stand on your lap and put his paws on your shoulders. He’s mellow and affectionate and loves everyone he meets. He likes to lounge in your lap and would be a perfect companion for someone who wants a gentle lap warmer to keep them company.
Huckleberry does have some medical considerations:
He is hyperthyroid and is currently on Methimazole indefinitely.
He may have minor arthritis which we are supplementing with Cosequin indefinitely.
He has early kidney disease which is not currently medicated
He did have some diarrhea with us while in the shelter which has since resolved. His diarrhea improved once we switched him to a wet-only Science Diet with pro-viable supplement, and no treats. We also offer him two litter boxes, which he seems to prefer.

Huckleberry is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet food, and is litterbox perfect.
