About Houdini (& Harry)
Born ~5/1/2020, F, Calico, Maine Coon Mix
Houdini and Harry MUST be adopted together. There are NO exceptions. See Harry here. [link to companion cat on the word “here”]
Harry and Houdini are brother and sister kittens. They totally love each other so we are sending them home together. Houdini is a little calico girl so like a calico she is the one in charge. She takes care of Harry who is a wonderful red tabby Maine Coon. Red tabbies are some of the most mellow, gentle sweethearts of the world.
We first noticed Harry because of all the hair growing out of his little kitten ears. In cat speak that hair is called “ear furnishings.” You can see it is especially well in his younger kitten photograph below. Houdini who we originally thought was a little tabby and white boy also seriously adorable in the shelter. When her red colors showed up later on we knew Harry had a calico sister, not a brother (all calicos are female). You can see that ear tuffs are growing on the tips of Harry and Houdini’s ears. When Houdini was taken to be spayed and Harry was all alone for the first time ever he cried and cried. They are a beautiful, very bonded pair.
You may notice that some kitten has been chewing off Harry’s whiskers. “Oh No!” you say. I understand your horror. Actually, this is a not uncommon stage with kittens though it certainly does seems very odd. It does not hurt the kitten and the whiskers grow back. It could be Houdini who is doing this or perhaps another of the kittens Harry plays with. It will be fine.
Harry and Houdini are both classic kittens, loving and cuddly, full of fun. Everyone at the vet’s office fell madly in love with Houdini and wanted to take her home. Of course I said, “Wait ’til you see her red brother. He is great too and they must stay together”. These two play and romp, they are mischievous and curious and happy to get into everything. Attention and pets from humans are very welcome. They love to sleep in cardboard boxes and, as you can see, they are happy to make do with a litter box if need be.
I don’t know how they are with dogs but they are cat and children friendly. They will be wonderful entertaining and loving companions for some lucky family.
Houdini is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
She is currently fostered by Harriet in Ben Lomond.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
