Adopted by Sam & Angie
Frankie was “a singleton” which is a very young kitten who is all alone. No mom, no siblings. I always like to take them from their unhappy stainless steel cage in a shelter and give them another singleton to cuddle with. Frankie was very young and very frightened. We put her with two young siblings and they slept in a pile. Perfect. When those two were adopted together we gave her a new “brother”, O’Malley. He was all alone in life but already a big confident love bug. They bonded very tightly. She needs him and he takes care of her. They are a bit of an odd couple but we knew they had to go home together.
With someone she knows Frankie is an attention sponge. She wants to cuddle and be held and watch old movies. She can curl up into the tiniest little ball in your arms. Loud noises, new places, or new faces can make her pause to assess whether she is safe. This is fading as she ages but there is still a bit of wariness in her. Frankies’ early life was hard on her. She is a happy, healthy play monster and a curious explorer unless something unexpected startles her. She hates having her picture taken (” Why are you acting so strangely?”) and tends to close her golden eyes. Her medium long coat is a tapestry of all different colors of brown. So beautiful.
O’Malley is a perfect friend for her because as a sweet, outgoing red boy nothing fazes him all. I love red tabbies and always try to take them in. He came to me from a cat rescuer who got him neutered, which came with an ear tip, but as she got to know him better she didn’t want to re-release him. He clearly loved humans and was too young to safely make it on his own. Of course I said yes. He is a happy goofball who will entertain his family every day. There is not a mean bone in his beautifully striped, red body.
We don’t know how these kitties would do around dogs but they are definitely cat and kitten friendly. Frankie would like a quieter home than O’Malley needs. She would do better with no young children, hyperactive dogs, or controlled chaos. These two have strong personalities and relate directly to their humans which makes them good family or companion kitties. O’Malley is already fully formed. Frankie will still blossom a bit as she matures. Maine Coon kitties keep growing into their third year. These smart kitties become quirky characters as they grow up.
Some family will be so lucky to have their companionship.
They eat wet and dry food and are letterbox perfect.
Frankie is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Frankie (and O’Malley) please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
