Born June 2009, F, Calico, Curly Haired Selkirk Rex
Wow, who have we here? If you have ever wanted to adopt a rare curly haired Selkirk Rex with fur like a lamb, and a spirited personality, here is your chance to become a proud kitty parent to such a treasure.
Fiona is very fun-loving and known for jumping in the air when she gets excited. She is a very active, independent, outgoing and playful cat. She enjoys heights (such as tall cat condos) and a variety of toys (catnip-scented animals; laser-pens; interactive wire danglers; pop-up cat tunnels; feather toys; balls and ice cubes).
She has an exceptional purr when she is happy. Her current owners are amazed how well she tolerates and plays with children of all ages. She loves anything with water (besides baths). She loves chasing ice cubes, staring at water faucets while the water is running and playing in water bowls. She can be a bit sassy and has been known to talk and even talk back.
They think she would do extremely well with an experienced cat owner as the only cat. They are hoping for someone who would have patience in helping her acclimate, provide positive reinforcement and create an environment with many of her favorite toys and activities. Ideally, they would love someone who would keep in touch, send photos and allow them to send gifts and toys once a year.
So the obvious question is, why would they need to give up this treasure?
Sometimes life is unpredictable and forces people into situations that are not working out for one of their feline companions. Her owner wrote to our organization stating that this was one of the hardest emails she’s ever had to write. Due to financial reasons they are now living with family members who also have two cats. Although Fiona grew up with two cats who she tolerated, no matter what her owners have tried, Fiona will not tolerate these other cats.
So let’s find her a home where she can be the reigning little Queen she needs to be – with so much Calico catitude, no competition is needed. If you have children or grandchildren, they should be quite enamored with her.
Fiona recently had a vet checkup and was declared a healthy little cat.
