About Elizabeth
Adopted by Leanne
I couldn’t resist this little girl who was all alone in the shelter. I was already taking in a litter of three very similar spotted tabby Maine Coon kittens. Elizabeth was three weeks older than they but was about the same weight. She was very thin and very sad. The Needs Rescue List had about 60 kittens posted- way too many who were at risk. ” Oh well,” I said at the last moment, “look may I take her also? – we can raise them together.” And I am so glad I did. Of course. My heart always goes out to frightened, single kittens. I have included her baby kitten photo at the bottom of her photos and one taken a month or so later.
We kept her separate from the three others til we were sure none had anything contagious, a very long week. When she slept in a pile with her new “siblings” she finally began to gain weight and grow happy. Her photo’s show what a healthy, beautiful girl she is.I love her snowy white feet (she is “white mitted” ).
You can see she has very silky and soft fur. Lizzie is a pleasure to pet and she enjoys being cuddled. She loves humans and says “love me and keep me safe” perhaps a carryover from her time in the stainless steel shelter cage. I do think rescued cats and kittens very often show their gratitude their whole life long This kitty is a cuddly girl who will climb on your lap or stay on your shoulder. She is also happy on her own.
Lizzie is a playful, curious, active kitten who enjoys the company of other kittens and cats. I don’t know how she is with dogs but she would probably be fine with the right gentle introduction. Her beautiful paws are quite big and I expect her to be a fairly large adult. She is currently over five and a half pounds with a long slender body and a raccoon tail. Lizzie has dramatically banded legs, a spotted body, and lush curly whiskers. Her coat is still growing in and her Maine Coon ruff will also likely come in later. e fluff, Lizzie has an unusual white necklace all around her neck and her ruff will probably be a dramatic white color. She is especially beautiful.
Lizzie is drawn to humans and would be fine with children over three feet tall though she may need to get used to their vocalizations and energy. She is a peaceable girl, good natured, a little quiet. She is probably still developing her trust in life after her hard beginning. She will make some lucky family a lovely, silky, heartwarming companion.
Lizzie eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect..
Elizabeth is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
