3 Year Old, F, Tortoiseshell Siamese Mix
Delilah is a very unique girl. She can thank her Siamese lineage for giving her such gorgeous crystal blue eyes. Adding to her beauty, Delilah has tortoise shell points on her face, ears and paws, a marbled body coat, white tip on tail and many extra toes! Cats with extra toes are known as polydactyls, mitten cats or Hemingway cats, and can sometimes be extra sensitive to nail trims. Delilah knows her feet are special and she is not fond of nail trims at all-she will become a ferocious little tiger if you attempt to trim her nails yourself. But if you provide Delilah with enough scratching posts and horizontal cardboard scratchers, it will encourage her to keep her nails in great shape all on her own and she loves them!
Delilah’s previous guardian describes her as independent and choosy about who she likes. Strangers may be greeted with a hiss until she gets to know you. When she does choose you as one of her favorites–Delilah enjoys ear and chin rubs. You can also expect leg rubs from Delilah, but it is best to keep everything short and sweet.
Delilah can be fairly independent. She would rather be a sidekick choosing her own resting areas or lying next to you rather than being a cuddlebug lap sitter. Delilah loves, but she loves on her own terms! She has had some access to the outside world and may enjoy a safe patio or catio as part of her new home. If you enjoy a kitty who shows some tortitude, this girl is for you!
Please note that Delilah is not with Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue. We are courtesy posting her for the Marin Humane Society in Novato, CA.
