Born ~2021, M, Silver Clouded Bengal
Adoption Fee: $300
For Bengal breeders a new much sought after coat pattern is one with large, irregular rosettes imitating those found on the flanks of Cloud Leopards. This beautiful boy is the result of one such breeding program. You can see what large, unusual rosettes he has. Yes he is a very special cat.
So why is this wonderful boy in rescue? Well, the local shelter called me and said “We have another Bengal for you. Want to come meet him?”. Bengals get stir crazy quite quickly in shelter cages. I visited the shelter and To see him is to want him and Cloud pretty much love bombed me from his shelter cage. Yes please I said. I put him in a cat room that had an attached catio and he loved it.
So first I was struck by his beauty and health, then by his wonderful friendliness to me, then by his serious dislike of other cats. !!! No exceptions. This boy needs to be an only cat. Some cat certainly offended him. ( Could he have been chased or attacked by a Bobcat? I wondered) I don’t know about dogs but maybe middle sized and up would be good companions. I might add he is a little less unfriendly to cats now that he has settled in with us but still: No exceptions.
I learned that his previous mom had let him be an inside outside cat. We have had no trouble keeping him entertained inside. He loves attention and can be held and petted all the time, so friendly. He will probably greet strangers who come to your door. Bengals are looking for a strong, deep bond with their humans and this is why their adopters are so passionate about them.
Cloud, of course, is smart, as Bengals are very smart, and the challenge to a Bengal’s family is that they can out think their Bengal and keep their Bengal safe inside their home. This breed is known for getting out and ending up in shelters. Like other Bengals, Cloud is a lot of cat.
I tell people that Bengals are a life style choice. This means you have to be happily willing to modify your life to accommodate the needs of your kitty. This is not a Persian sleeping on the back of the couch. You need to be careful that your Bengal cannot open your outside doors. ( they will certainly open lever handle doors – and sometimes knob handle doors). They will climb in your home and maybe stand on the top edges of your doors so plan on that. Young children or their friends may not be responsible enough to keep doors closed.
We need a very special Bengal experienced home for this very special Bengal, Cloud.
Cloud is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Cloud please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at email@example.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
