Surprisingly Dior and Chloe were born down in Rio de Janeiro. We have their Brazilian breeders’ papers. They lived in California, but when their human dad died their mom moved back to Brazil. Her kitties moved into a shelter. Purebreds got them out as quickly as they could.

These two are treasures. I have a special fondness for Persians and Himalayans. They are extra vulnerable kitties because they give away their whole hearts. They are bred to love humans, and that is what they do. I tell people they are “intimate” with humans, very personal in how they love. They cuddle, they lick, and they respond with their little bodies all the time.

Dior was a classic good-natured little sweetheart from the first moment she arrived. She was upset but brave and wanted to be held and reassured. Where was her safe home? Dior has some of the characteristics of a baby cat. We dressed her in Christmas clothes, and she happily posed for photos. She is an easy-going little girl who shows her sweet expression in every photo. If you look carefully, you can see a little white spot in the corner of her right eye. The eye vet told us that this is a “pillow,” a kind of scar tissue from long ago eye surgery; it is fine just as it is and needs no medications or attention.

Chloe was shy and quiet reclusive when she arrived. Her life had not been going well, and it showed on her face and in her body language. Chloe has a special skill that Dior doesn’t share. Chloe knows how to glare. Seriously. She has expressions, and we are careful not to let her see us laughing. She is so funny. I have included some photos of her disgruntled expressions that she showed while we were photographing her- a process which she disliked, “turn this way, now that way.” Chloe thought we were rude! She is a beautiful Persian, and now that she has settled in with us, she shows us that she is a very sweet and loving girl.

A perfect home for these two would be a quiet home with humans who were around a lot of the time. They would be fine as the only cats in the home or would be alright with other quiet, non-aggressive older kitties or, maybe, dogs. They ,and especially Dior at first, would be fine with older respectful children. Most importantly, I would like them to go to a home with previous experience taking care of Persians and Himis. These kitties must be protected and kept safe. Their family needs to have the time and interest to focus their love on them and watch over their welfare.

Chloe is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.

She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pets and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Chloe (and Dior), please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com. If you are unable to reach Harriet, please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children to bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
