About Charlie

Charlie is a very handsome guy with huge blue eyes and a gorgeous long silky coat. His coat is easy to care for in comparison to other Himalayans and Persians. It is soft and doesn’t mat as easily as most others of his breed. Combing him two or three times a week will keep him in top shape. He enjoys being brushed and stays close so you will continue his grooming.
Charlie was brought to the shelter by a friend or relative when his owner passed away. The shelter was an extremely scary place for him as we assume he lived his life in a fairly quiet home. So he came into our rescue where he has a bedroom of his own to relax in, and time to adjust to losing his person. He is taking time to adjust to his changing circumstances, but he is very sweet. He will need a patient adopter to let him settle in and learn to trust his new family. He is quite food motivated and will meet you at the door if his bowl is empty. He also weaves around your legs when waiting for his meal, so you must be careful not to trip on Charlie Boy! Presently he is very healthy with a good appetite.
He is coming to his Foster mom for pets and grooming, and will sit on her lap for a short period of time. He is frightened when picked up, so patience is necessary if you need to carry him any distance until he trusts you fully.
He plays with catnip mice and balls by himself. He is a bit frightened by feathers on a string, not sure if anyone played with him when he was a kitten. He is starting to try to hit the feather as it moves slowly past him. I think he will be quite playful when he settles into his forever home. Are you the perfect place for this sweet boy? Charlie is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
He currently lives with his foster family in Carmichael.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
