About Cassie

Adopted By Karleen & Duane

The shelter sent me an email that said “Would you be interested in a pair of Manx kittens?” Of course I said “Yes!!! I am on my way.” I love Manxes. Everyone loves Manxes. Now named Sammie and Cassie, this brother and sister pair are adorable. As you probably know Manxes have shortened tails of various lengths and sometime no tails at all. They also have extra strong hind legs that are longer than their front legs so that their back slopes a bit downward to their heads. You can see that configuration in this pair. As is typical of Manxes, Sammie and Cassie use their strong hind legs to run like bouncing bunny rabbits- moving both hind legs forward at the same time. This is so much fun to watch.

Both Sammie and Cassie have the longer version of a short tail and both have a kink in the very end of it. Sammie’s tail kind of fans out the way some Japanese Bobtail tails do. We have been told these two could be Japanese Bobtails. I wonder if perhaps a breeder left them in she shelter because he or she didn’t like the kinks? They also could just have been born this way though I think their hind legs argue that they have Manx or Bobtail heritage. We can’t be sure. What we do know is that they are wonderful, beautiful, loving kitties.

Sammie and Cassie are both super affectionate and actively solicit human attention. If you don’t push Sammie off your lap or shoulder he will stay cuddled with you for hours. He loves to be held. Cassie also loves to be petted and admired though, like most calicos, she gets wiggly if you hold her too long. Cassie especially loves to chase a feather; dragging it along the floor drives her wild. She is first and foremost a playgirl.

These two are bonded together and must go home as a pair. No exceptions. They love to wrestle and ambush each other. They are easily friendly with other kittens and cats.I expect they would be fine with good natured dogs and respectful, good natured children. These are confident, social kittens ready for a world of fun in their new home.

Some family will be so lucky to have their companionship. They are great hearted, loving kittens.

Sammie and Cassie eat wet and dry food and are litterbox perfect.

Their foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
