About Buttersworth aka Butters or Buddy
Born ~ 2018, M, Brown Tabby British Short Hair
A regal English gentleman needed an equally regal name…. meet Mr. Buttersworth, a one-year-old British Shorthair. Mr. Buttersworth more commonly referred to as “Butters” or “Buddy” is just as purrfect as can be and will make a lucky family very happy.
He is the typical British Shorthair with a solid, muscular build, thick tail and dense coat, which gets brushed 2-3 times per week.
As with most young cats, Butters is extremely energetic and is looking for an active family to call his own. He is very playful and enjoys lots of agility exercises and levels to climb. His regular routine includes early morning playtime followed by a later morning nap with his humans or kitty friends. Don’t have an alarm? Don’t worry – Butters will make sure to let you know when it’s time to get up with a melody of meows. After a refreshing nap, Buddy is back at play. He likes to wrestle with Sprout, a blind 8-month-old kitten, chase Ferdinand a 4-year-old rambunctious kitty, run around in the kitten room and climb the shelves all the way to the top!
He is a very social guy and will need to go to a family with other kitties who will want to play because he will persist until his new friend gives in. In between his energetic bursts, he enjoys drinks and splashing around in his kitty water fountain. If you’re brushing your teeth, washing your face or done with your shower, he’s right there with you playing in the water. At night a good play session is needed followed by a treat right before bed. If he doesn’t get in a good play session, he’ll create his own agility course in the bedroom around midnight, while serenading you with a melody of meows.
He loves to sleep on a pillow above your head mostly, but sometimes will cuddle alongside your legs. He loves scratches, pets and snuggles when he’s curled up and napping.
He isn’t picky when it comes to food, but gets dry all day, tuna and chicken for dinner and a treat before bed. He has excellent litterbox manners and has never had an accident. He currently lives with a 70lb Rhodesian Ridgeback. He doesn’t mind her, but isn’t really interested in playing with her either – he definitely prefers his kitty friends. Buddy hasn’t met any children, but given his laidback, nonaggressive personality, I think he would do well with proper introductions.
Mr. Buttersworth is being fostered in Sacramento, CA.
