Meet Sweet Baby

Baby’s current owner has been fostering kittens from various animal shelters for decades and is an ardent cat lover. She has prided herself on her success with seeing kittens “graduate” from her care to being adopted into loving homes. She was so smitten with Baby that she became what we like to refer in rescue as a “foster failure”. It means that she planned to keep this cute little kitty by adding her to the household with four other cats and a loving, cat savvy German Shepherd.

Unfortunately, as it sometimes goes in the fascinating and mysterious feline world, adding one sweet and innocent cat can upset the dynamics of the entire pet household. The family had one female cat by the name of Little Girl who became aggressive and bullying not only toward the other cats she’d lived with for a long time, but especially toward Baby. They noticed Little Girl actively stalking and “hunting” Baby at every opportunity.

Eventually the family decided to rehome Little Girl with one of their friends. Little Girl is doing great in her new environment. However, they have come to the sad realization that Baby’s initial experience is still having an effect on her, and as much as she is loved by her current family, they think it would be best for her to have a fresh start in a new, relaxed and loving environment.

Baby is initially shy and anxious, but once she feels comfortable and safe she is a very sweet and engaging cat; she purrs prolifically, enjoys being petted, and is a good snuggler. They believe she will be an amazing cat for somebody who is looking for a calm, quiet companion. She would probably do best in an adult only home that can provide her a calm, relaxed environment and where she can remain the only feline in the home. She might also be fine with very cat savvy gently children. As you can see in some of the pictures, Baby likes to snuggle up to their gentle dog when the dog is relaxing.

We are looking for an adopter who wants to protect and love this sweet girl for the rest of her life.
