These boys, Romeo and Apollo, have an unusual COVID story. Early this year their family was visiting New Zealand and became quarantined there unable to leave. They fell in love with New Zealand and somehow ultimately they decided to emigrate there and were welcomed into the country. This is all wonderful except they could not bring their treasured Ragdoll kitties with them. I was the original foster for this pair when they were youngsters back in 2014 and they came to me. They were always favorites and I am happy to have them back into foster.
Apollo is a very confident, happy boy. People describe Ragdolls as being extra mellow and good natured and that is true of both these kitties. However just because Apollo is mellow doesn’t mean that he doesn’t still have moments of racing about acting like a goofball kitten. Most nights he runs sprints for a few minutes after the sun has gone down as he releases energy and crazy joy. (My Himalayan does this also so I don’t think it is at all odd).
Apollo is very people oriented . He loves lap time and particularly likes to lie on your lap when you put your feet up. Do you have a recliner or ottoman? His former mom said that he loves to have his soft, irresistible tummy rubbed as he lies on his back between your legs. This is his favorite position. ( and might be yours too) His soft, cuddly coat is perfect to run your hands over. Like almost all cats he loves to lie on a sunny window sill and watch the world go by. These cats have always been inside only.
Apollo is not only sensitive to humans he also is sensitive to food and fleas. He has a “sensitive tummy” and is on a special Royal Canin Vet Diet of a easily digested protein.( “Selected Protein Adult PV canned food” ) He loves this food and does well on it and he should stay on it . On this food everything goes well he has no tummy trouble ( and no diarrhea). He also takes a pill a day after breakfast. At his last home he would come sit and wait for his pill and then tolerate his toothbrushing so that he could lick his much enjoyed toothpaste off his toothbrush. He is a very entertaining kitty.
Apollo and Romeo need to go home together – they are not brothers but are bonded as brothers. They would like to be the only pets in a stable, fairly quiet home. Older respectful children would probably be fine for them. They have been very lovingly cared for and need a home where folks want to enjoy them with love and attention. That said they are also fine when sometimes left alone all day. These boys are gentle and goodnatured as Ragdolls are known to be. They are soft, warm, cuddly loving treasures. Yes, of course, they are also very beautiful.
Apollo has just had a blood panel ( perfect) and will have had a dental cleaning before he goes to his new home ( it is scheduled for 7/30 ).
Apollo eats special canned food and is litterbox perfect.
His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
