About Angelique

Adopted by Christy, Renee, Jack and Blake

Angelique loved her bath. We should have expected that since Turkish Angoras are famous for loving water. We were delighted at how her soft white fur sparkled afterwards ( and threw out her earlier photo’s).

Angel is an easy kitty to care for and very easy to love. She was friendly to us the very first day she arrived from an overfull shelter. We knew it would be easy to find her a loving home. Who wouldn’t want a beautiful, healthy, young, loving sweet girl? Perfect.

However, not many people are familiar with Turkish Angora kitties so let me describe them. In Turkey, their native home, these cats are called “National Treasures”. Classically they are known for being pure white but they come in many different coats and eye color variations. Angoras are delicately boned, graceful, almond-eyed, medium-small cats. Solidly muscled they weigh more than they appear. This is true of “little” Angel. Their easy-care fur does not have the undercoat layer that matts up and needs extra time and effort. Often described as being ” ballerina like ” these light-stepping athletes love to play.

Angoras are super smart and want to follow you around to help you with your chores. Devoted to their family, they are a little bit more needy for human company than the average cat. They are not, for example, good kitties for a family who are out at work all day long; clever little mischief makers they might get bored and start finding something interesting to do (like opening your drawers).

Angelique does not appreciate the presence of other cats. This may be from her lingering protective hormones from when she was recently pregnant. Or it may just be who she is. Angoras are generally cat-friendly as long as they get to be in charge. For now, she needs to be an only cat. We have never seen her around dogs. She would be a good family cat for a home with children older than four or five years. She is also a great choice for a single person, or a couple, whose home needs the presence of a loving kitty companion.

I might add that she seems to know she is beautiful and she has a touch of the regal diva in her. Maybe she remembers that in Turkey, past and present, she and her extended family Ruled.

Some family will be so lucky to have her loyal loving company.

Angelique eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Angelique is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Angelique please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
