Born ~2013, Female, Grey-White Tuxedo Main Coon Mix
Alecia is a grey-white tuxedo Maine Coon mix. Her Main Coon heritage is reflected in her size, fur and most importantly her personality. You look at her and see a beautiful, seemingly dainty little girl cat, with the cutest quizzical expression, dazzling soft white fur and beautiful green eyes. Then when you pick her up, you realize that under that fur, this is a big cat with big Maine Coon bones weighing in at 16.5 lbs. As you hold her you find she has a big purr to match. As you get to know her and look into her green eyes, you will find she has the classic female Maine Coon personality – intelligent, playful, and loving and looking for her very special person(s) to bond with.
Alecia was rescued by a Purebred Plus volunteer visiting an Animal Control shelter. Her original owners had to move to assisted living (no pets allowed) with no choice but to surrender their beloved pets to the shelter and hope for the best. Alecia was indoor only and much loved. She initially had difficulty coping when her world suddenly came crashing down. But once Alecia was in foster, she quickly bounced back. She has a keen sense of fun, loves to play, and has fair turn of speed when she decides to kick up her heels and run through the house (usually with her toy mouse in her mouth). Although large, she is very precise in her movements. She also can be thoughtful. However, she always reaches out to humans for companionship, play and affection. You will find that there is nothing better than having a very large beautiful Maine Coon mix on your lap, making biscuits, giving kitty kisses, and purring up a storm.
Alecia is an excellent choice for first time kitty owners – for solos, couples or families. She is low maintenance, very polite and very tolerant. In foster she avoided cat conflict and never struck out in fear or anger. She probably would do well with a cat friendly dog who already knows that the cat is in charge; or in a family with cat savvy children; or as a second cat with the understanding that her focus would be on her humans first, her cat companion(s) second.
Alecia is spayed, up to date on vaccines, FELV/FIV negative, dewormed, microchipped and with flea prevention applied. Her fur does have a bit of Persian, but she usually does not mat (unless you let her sleep in the damp bathtub). She loves to be brushed. She has been known to politely spin her brush like a top to remind you that here she is and here is the brush. (Just in case it slipped your mind).
Alecia’s foster mom is Diane in Sacramento, CA.
