Born ~2013, Female, Bronze, Egyptian Mau
Kiya is a fantastic cat. Where do I begin? Her green eyes are luminescent. She is friendly and so very loving. She is a fairly small cat, long and lean. agile and athletic. Her personality is wonderful. To see her is to want her.
She is a good mother! What you say, mother? Yes. She was owner surrendered to us because she was (very) pregnant and seriously cranky around the other dogs and cats in her owner’s home. Kiya had had a litter before and her owner did not want to go thru all that again. She had six beautiful kittens who, except for one, look nothing like her and will be posted to the kitten page soon. I included photos at the end so you can see her in her beautiful pregnancy.
Kiya is now spayed, of course, but she needs a family who will carefully keep her inside since we know she was allowed outside. Being pregnant makes cats decidedly unfriendly to other cats and dogs. Kiya has relaxed a bit in this but I think she would enjoy being an only cat for now. I expect she would be fine with kids 4 feet or taller. She is a very nice girl.
Egyptian Mau’s attract people because of their exotic looks but soon win their hearts with their intelligence and their fierce loyalty to their owners. These are very interactive cats and need a lot of constant connection with their family. They are amazing athletes and love to play. Sort of like a bengal they need space and entertainment. Do put a bed on top of your refrigerator.
Kiya eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
She is fostered in Santa Cruz.
